“Patrick Manifold is without question one of the hardest working and most dedicated players that I have ever coached. What separates Patrick from most players is his willingness to put in the time and effort to improve his overall game – skills, strength, and basketball IQ. Patrick has achieved a great deal during his career at the University of Maine-Presque Isle – Basketball All-American, Academic All-American, Player of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year and he graduated with highest academic honors. Patrick is never satisfied and he is constantly setting new goals and looking for ways to become the best he is capable of becoming as a player, student, and as a person.  He is a person of the highest character and he will be an asset to any team, organization, or company.I have had the privilege of coaching Patrick and I hope that in some small way that I have made a difference in his life because he has certainly made a difference in my life.”
~ Coach Jim Casciano  Head Coach: University of Maine at Presque Isle

“In watching video in preparation for putting together our game plan for the University of Maine at Presque Isle, it was very clear that our defensive tactics had to start with a concept of how we were going to limit Patrick Manifold.  Patrick showed himself to be very good at carving out space in the low post area, and when he caught the ball low he played with good power and explosiveness.  In addition to his power game, Patrick showed real improvement between his junior and senior seasons in his ability to operate with his back to the basket and get the low post defender off balance.  At Vermont Tech, we really try to avoid low post double teams because we prefer not to leave shooters.  Against Presque Isle, we really had no choice; we couldn't guard Patrick one-on-one.  Even double teams are limited in their effectiveness, because Patrick does a nice job of playing through contact.  As a former coach in the NBA Development League with Bakersfield, Patrick Manifold is a player that would be very intriguing to me if I were coaching professionally.  He has good feet and hands, plays with very good effort and showed significant improvement at Presque Isle.  I think his best basketball is ahead of him, and I would project that he will continue to blossom as he devotes himself full-time to the development of his game.”
~ Coach Chris Leazier  Head Coach: Vermont Technical College

"Over the course of his four year career Patrick was one of the most consistent, hard working and classy big men that we faced.  He also seemed to improve each game and season that we faced our heated rival UMPI to the point where he was controlling both ends of the floor by his junior and senior seasons.  Patrick's dedication, hard work and respect of the game will go a long way with his future endeavors on and off the court."
~ Coach Eric Werntgen Head Coach: University of Maine at Fort Kent

“Patrick has been the face of U-Maine Presque Isle for the past four years.  He has displayed everything that you could want in a player, discipline, grit and composure throughout.  He works equally as hard on the offensive and defensive ends and his work ethic is contagious.  Patrick is a crafty post players who can work with his back to the baskets, as well as be effective on the drive from the perimeter.  He is a true class act.”
~ Coach David Lindberg Head Coach: Fisher College of Boston

“My favorite quote to describe the best player I ever had the privilege of recruiting and coaching; ‘Some people see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not.’ You must believe it to achieve it, and Patrick believes it. He will not be outworked.”
~ Coach Terry Cummings Past Head Coach: University of Maine at Presque Isle

"Patrick is one of the hardest working and most dedicated athletes I have ever had the pleasure of coaching.  His passion and desire to reach his personal goals on and off the court is an inspiration to both his teammates as well as his coaches."
~ Coach Alan Gordon Assistant Coach: University of Maine at Presque Isle

Patrick Manifold Scouting Report:

Patrick Manifold stands tall at an imposing 6’7 (201cm) and a muscular 220 lbs (100kg) while possessing great upper body strength (has bench pressed over 300lbs). Manifold is a very versatile player who has the ability to play inside and out and has proved this over his entire career.

In the UK, Manifold was a dominant outside scorer who attacked the basket from every angle as well as having a consistent 3 point shot. In U.S College, Manifold was a dominant post player in where he averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds per game whilst shooting 60% from the field his senior year. Manifold’s dominance inside was no secret, and teams tried everything from triple teams to tight zone defenses to try and slow him down, but due to his high basketball IQ and ability to adjust quickly, he always found a way to score.

Manifold is a pure scorer; a very smart player that always seems to find a way to put the ball in the basket. This past season he averaged over 25 points per game despite zones and triple teams. He is also a relentless rebounder on both ends of the floor and averaged 11.5 rebounds a game this past season, proof that he is tenacious on the glass for an entire season. He can handle the ball extremely well for his size and can also shoot the ball very well from long range.

Anybody that has seen Manifold play in person can attest to his ferocious competitiveness as a player who always gives 100% effort on both ends of the floor, a real hustle player. Manifold is a rare type of player who can provoke real mismatches for the opposition; put a big guy on him and he takes them off the dribble, put a small guy on him and he takes him to the low block where he possesses an array of post moves; it really is pick your poison.

While Manifold has proven he can be relied upon to be a consistent scorer and rebounder, he is also a great playmaker. This streak was installed in him at a younger age, where up until the age of 17 Manifold played as a point guard, and still posses many of those same skills, as well as instincts. Bottom line, with Manifold you are getting a great competitor, an extremely skilled and versatile player who is aggressive both offensively and defensively, who can be relied upon to be a consistent scorer and  rebounder, who can also block shots, play good defense on a number of positions and be a great leader on any team. Patrick Manifold is the type of player who can make any team he plays on better.
